    Usually I have -

    1/2 cup non-fat organic yogurt
    1/2 cup lactose-free high-protein skim milk
    1/3 cup quaker oats, uncooked
    1 banana
    3-4 frozen strawberries
    6-7 frozen blueberries
1 tbsp frozen orange juce concentrate (w/ calcium)
    1 tbsp flax seed oil
    2 green tea caplets
    1 packet emergen-c (vitamin c/b complex)

i'm trying to lose weight and i usually never eat breakfast, so i figure this would be good in the morning to keep metabolism going. its about 450 calories total.

what do you guys eat in the morning while cutting?

I don't want be a dick but that looks like not enough protein for cutting

Also fruit is'nt too great for cutting and you have alot of sugar and high GI carbs in there

the fruit is probably 15g sugar max, which is ok for breakfast i think

the fruit is all sugar and it's sugar in the skimmed milk and [size=-1]yogurt too.

I would'nt worry too much about the GI of oats either way but Steel-Cut oats are the best you can get.

The best shake would be pretty much the one 1.8T posted + a tblsp of Flax like in your shake now.

I've no idea. I eat whole foods except for post workout :hsd:

Steel-Cut are bigger than rolled though, they may take longer to blend into a powder but tons of people on this board use them in shakes so it must work well

You must agree it's not the best option when cutting though

I meant eating low GI starches rather than fructose as your carbs while cutting :dunno:

your shake is fine, although how much protein is in that milk? my shake is pretty similar to yours except i put in a scoop or two of whey. and today i actually tried a packet of effer-c, which seems to pretty much be the same as your stuff, and it was ok, but the orange flavor tasted a little weird with the other stuff i have in it.

its 14 g/cup, so about 7 g protein from milk, plus about 5 g protein from the yogurt and 3 g from the oatmeal, so about 15g protein total

i should probably get some protein powder and dump that in there too
