The wife and I went to Rehoboth Beach, DE this weekend to get away for a bit. Fucking  weather, and a  place. Super dog friendly, lots of great beer and food, and cool people.

So these are snapshots, cuz I really didn't bring the camera out, I was too sloshed all weekend.. But I figured you guys would want to see em. I actually really like #3 and 4.

    1. The place we stayed - The Bellmoor LENS FLAAAAAIR FTMFW!

    2. The garden at the hotel.

    3. This kid was hysterical. I coulda shot him all day, and I got his parents approval (we were talking to them about their dogs and how cool it is that dogs are allowed on the beach... )

So yeah, i'd love to hear some feedback. This lens is fun. I really need to learn how to play to it's strengths...

I've found that with this lens you need to find an interesting object or subject close to the camera to add some depth and perspective to the shot.

For example, in your #'s 3-4, I would have gotten low to the sand and really close to the wooden blocks on the left. Give it a try next time you're shooting, I think you'll like the results.

 Yeah, I actually laughed and said that to Amy when I showed her the shot after I took it... Hilarious.

Nope, no filter, and not much of a boost in post either. It was crazy blue out there. Later on, some clouds came in that made it look like the sky from the Truman Show - like it was fake and painted in, but of course I had dropped the camera off at the hotel by then...

Is that what they are? seriously? :eek4: I'd never been to a beach with them before, I just assumed they were there to help slow erosion or break up big waves or something... I mean the place is littered with environmentally friendly reminders and people, doesn't strike me as the kind of place that would be down with sewer pipes just chilling out there...

i'm not 100% sure about those ones, but in Stone Harbor (a pretty upscale beach in NJ) they have wooden structures just like that, which are supporting sewer / drainage pipes from the neighborhood streets.
