My girlfriend was burning a few picture CDs next to me with her Macbook when all of a sudden she got excited. She accidentally put two CD-R's into her Macbook. On the desktop two icons appeared... "CD 1" and "CD 2." She hit eject and one CD popped out. She hit eject again and the second one followed. Both CDs came out unscratched and the optical drive still works fine.

Is this normal? I tried to find information about it, but failed. Don't really want to try it again in case it was some weird fluke.

it is possible to have a mixed partition cd rom, like a mac and windows partition, you'd get two icons.

two may go in and out at once, but you'd be luck if you didnt damage it.

    :dunno:

Not trolling, just thought it was weird. She probably just shoved them both in at the same time and didn't even realize it. Fortunately nothing's damaged.

    Thanks for the help

I've seen OSX mount two discs before with only one disc inserted, but i'm surprised to hear that it was able to accept two.

And no, you're not getting anything except a potentially scratched disc by putting two in there.
