I ordered the surefire inrared filter and then I was thinking, maybe I'll check out some night vision scopes and see how I like that setup. I'm going night hunting/shooting with a friend soon, he's got all kinds of wild game on his 600+acres

    Should be fun!

This unit quick detaches and I actually like the EoTech being mounted more forward like that, its easier to glance through it rather than having to raise the weapon to your eye line. It shows up great in the night vision reticle but it hasn't been dark enough for me to truely test it. The IR beam on this thing is awesome, but it only goes 200m, the Surefire system has a broader beam and goes about 300m

yea, no offense, but ew. instead of lumping all the money together on one AR for useless stuff, you should buy another complete AR so you have two different platforms.
