Now that I plan to get a DVD player, is it a good idea to have the DVD/Home Theater System combo?

In another post, we talked about DVD wear and tear.

    Any comments?

I'm not a tech expert so the package deal on HTS is best for me instead of mix and match. Also money is once again an issue. But there are HTS that are without the DVD at the same price range.

    Thanks

it really depends on your budget

what do you want to spend and what do you want to get out of a system?

    .

Let's put the question another way, is it better to get the DVD seperate or in combo with the HTS?

At this level of performance, it really doesn't matter. Just pick the features you want.
