I am a CSS n00b, but I am getting better. I am in the process of creating my own layout with a lot of trial and error but I am satisfied with my work so far.

Recently I looked at my handiwork in firefox and noticed some differences between what was displayed in IE. I overcame a centering problem, but I am still having some issues.

The layout can be found here: www.bastardguy.net

The red menu and buttons are going to be replaced, as well as adding a footer. The main problem is that the main pinkish background image shows through the blank space between the menu, content area, and sidebar. Also the background image drop shadow only appears along the sides of the red menu, instead of appearing along side the whole content area like it does in IE.

The code does validate, so I do not think this is user error but I am a beginner so what do I know?

IE has never done css, but it's slowly getting there!

there's sometimes a problem with using IE with css sites, it's usually a mis-format only and nothing critical ..... it might also depend on how you actually layout your site too

it can get VERY particular in precise positioning .....
