ever since updating my iphone is running like absolute shit.

first apps would crash immediately after opening, then i restored, apps work but it runs slow as balls, when i text the typing is laggy and delayed.

the phone takes FOREVER to turn off and on.

    takes forever to back up

and worst, it keeps switching itself on and off of silent(vibrate) mode, without me flicking the switch, it just switches back and forth and back and forth and keeps vibrating. :ugh:

    can't wait for 2.0.1

Apple doesn't do that. It's easier for them to just swap out the phone than to fix it in the store, so that's what they do. I know for a fact they don't do any loaner phone stuff

If it's screwing up enough, they'll definitely do it.

i took a video of it doing the on/off switching thing on my camera, so im gonna bring that and show them, bc it only does it intermittently...

hopefully that will be enough, and i'll just tell them the other symptoms

I'd say if you can, take a video of it happening, and make sure to include taping the serial number too, just so they can see it's the same phone. There aren't any guarantees, but it would certainly help

i got a vid, but with no serial, i dont think they will give me any trouble, the fact that i'm tech savvy and not a retarded 17 year old girl makes me a lot easier to deal with, so they usually like me and give me what i want (I usually get new batteries each time i complain), and hopefully this will go the same way. i dont even care about a new phone, as long as they fix it :dunno:

yeah, they'll probably take care of you. generally if you explain that you have been a huge apple user for a while, and you constantly purchase apple stuff, they will make sure to take care of you. they wont want to lose you as a customer

Uhh.. yes they do. I dropped my first iPhone last year shortly after getting it. It was cosmetic damage and my fault but they sent it out for repair free. I got the loaner phone for $40.

Ok, well then they definitely don't give out loaner phones at the one near me. They swap out the phone, and that's that.

Mine froze and I couldn't turn it off. I had to (1st gen by the way) open the little cover, I took 2 thumb tacks and shorted out the battery. The phone went off and wouldn't restart. I plugged it into Itunes and it started Immediately. No problems since. My wife has 3g and the maps froze on her for like 4 hours. restarted multiple times and and nothing. She reset it and it works fine. I love the phones but sometimes the bugs are time consuming.

Haven't upgraded to 2.0 yet but I have the applecare with my original iphone until July 2009. Anyhow went in a month back talked with someone at the genius bar about phone problems.

Of course I could not duplicate any of them at the time. He told me I can't do anything since I haven't seen any issues but if you continue to have issues make another appointment. 2 weeks later same issue and a new one make appointment get same genius and he swaps phone out no question asked. Didn't have to get nasty or complain. No fee or anything was in and out in 15 minutes.
