So this was my first real attempt at OCF with people.
It was pretty hard since it took some time to get the lighting right and adjusting flash power while asking my friends to "hang out" while i tweak things.

And there was no diffuser on the flash.
My assistant (my wife) didn't want to lug around a giant softbox around. :wtc:

These are pretty much right our the camera. Any ideas on PP tips to improve this pictures? I'd like to improve them as much as possible.
Oh, #5 and #6 only differ in WB. What do you guys think is the better WB?

Seems like you only flashed the top 1/3 of their bodies. Flash zoomed in or pointed to high?

Yea, I had it manually set to 80mm. The flash was on the end of an 8 foot light stand with a distance of about 3-4 feet away from the girl's head. I guess I should have used a wider flash setting.

is OCF like OCD? because your photos could use some more OCD in the setup department

How about using some umbrellas? Lightweight and can somewhat simulate a softbox if you have a reflective and close it down. Use your wife as a lightstand easier to move around, control, and adjust.(* not for everyone)

I typically use my shoot thru umbrellas backwards so they reflect the light.
Been meaning to get some of the shoot thrus with the reflective cover you can throw over them. I'm gonna guess they increase the light on the subject and you can probably turn your flashes down a little more with them.

I'm still learning so I don't charge for anything.
If i can get one or two good pictures for them, I'd be happy.

The dude looks very stiff in a lot of the shots, ask him to loosen up a bit.

The flash angle, like previously mentioned is too narrow. While it might work with some shots, it's not working for these :(. Since you are just starting out, I'd recommend trying out a whole bunch of stuff at that one shoot. Mess around with different lighting techniques, tweak the flash zoom for the same shot a few times, etc.

And also, location could use a little more work. I can get that the windows provide a lot of cool lines, but the background past the window is boring and can be a little distracting sometimes.

I think the location is not ideal for what you were trying to accomplish. Way too distracting.
