Chief engineer Kazutoshi Mizuno said the new GT-R "could get anywhere from 7:44 on up, with most laps coming in between 7:55 and 7:58." This fits perfectly with the recent times achieved by various professional drivers.

    * Wolf could be Wolfgang Kaufmann *

Finally from the great man himself, Horst von Saurma

they can question it all they want. Or they can watch the video of it. Do they question all the other videos on tracks in the u.s. over and over and over where it pretty much destroys everything they put it up against.

(except top speed strait line zr sack riders yes we know hp/wt ratio)

Too bad that the Nurburgring is a high speed track.

The GTR's time is nowhere near those of the Enzo, Zonda, ZR1, ACR - all of which are 7:20's car. Nissan's Nurburgring time was done using a RINGER!!!!

Regardless, the GTR is a lot of car for the money. :dunno:

You can spend a lot more buying something that will run with it.

    Its still a great car

i just don't think when you justify everything, its as good as bang for buck as the ZR1 for a mere 20 grand more.

    I'm not sure if i'd have a GTR or a Z06

you'd just have to drive both and see what you like, what suits you better, you might not like either of them once you drove them.

magazine racing is one thing, driving a car is another. I thought for sure I wanted a Lotus, went to buy one, drove it. couldn't stand it. Obviously didn't buy it.

that it is, I'll need a seat lowering kit before I can track it. There's no way I can wear a helmet in it.

i find that in alot of those japanese cars, they don't take into account people over 6ft tall

i really wanted a 1J Soarer for a while, but my head is hard against the roof in them :o

With bucket seats you fit perfectly fine though

lol, you just owned yourself, he was making a joke, not being serious.

the transmissions on the GTR are sound friend, especially if you're racing them. Just don't do repeated 4500 RPM clutch dumps, which I wouldn't recommend doing in any car that you want to keep your 1-3 gears in! LOL

(btw, GM has the same disclaimer=abuse the car and it isn't covered)

This discussion is so fucking lame.

Ok even if you doubt GTR's ring times, look at all the other reports. From Top gear to H2H from Torque TV and countless other, the car has dominated the times.
