looks slightly out of focus, but that could just be due to the reflection of the sky in the buildings :o

I think you're right. The tower on the right has letters on it and they are blurry as fuck.

    This certainly has potential.

I like the skyline. IMO the image could be cropped closer, lopping off the left and right edges. The street light on the left seems a bit distracting to me, and the building on the right is rather dull, in my opionion

Yes, it's off tilt slightly. Some post processing could fix that. Also, it was mentioned that it looks a bit off focus, it does. Did you use auto focus? Auto focus on most cameras don't work perfectly in low light situations, I usually set focus to manual for night shots.

It's manual, I was quite far away... hard to tell at night through a tiny viewfinder (for me anyway). You think it was out of focus or just due to the second or so exposure it just became kinda fuzzy?

Well, if it is out of focus and it was on manual, it is sort of hard to tell sometimes. Especially if there's glare.

If it was a second or so, did you use a tripod?

Used a tripod, but pretty far away. Taken with a Sigma 24-105mm at 42mm (so what like 60mm), manul focus / manual mode, 1 sec exp, f/9, ISO-200... i could have probably done 100 but didn't think about it.
