not really a good comparison. Just because people spent more on their macs doesn't mean that people who bought pcs wern't doing the same stuff for less than $1000 -- which is likely the case.

So all that chart tells me, is that you still pay too much for a mac.

Here's what I paid $900 for, Dell, granted it was a couple years ago.

Here's my most recent one, same price.

The Dell didn't even have built-in wi-fi, much less BT. My last notebook was a Sony Vaio, sexy looking one too, cost me $1300. Still think my $900 Macbook is overpriced?

yes, it's not my fault you got ripped the fuck off.

I got a gateway m-series in november. 15.4" widescreen, ATi 2600XT w/HDMI out, 250GB hard drive, DVD+/-RW, 2.0GHz Core2Duo, Vista Home Premium, 3GB RAM, webcam, 802.11ABGN, Bluetooth, etc... Cost me $749. This system basically competes with macbook pros (definitely better than an ordinary macbook) and does so for less than half the cost.

sorry to bring a little reality to your circle jerk. You saw a statistic and completely mis-interpreted it.

The dell was back in early 04, core duos weren't even out yet, much less core2duos. Dells were pretty much the only budget notebooks available then

granted i'm a mac user, but that is a horrible comparison.

  20.

Based on hardware specs maybe? Of course the MBP doesn't look like a soviet design, and I'd gladly pay more money to have Leopard over Vista. There's more to a system than a superficial hardware comparison. Of course, so many PC die-hards ignore that, because that's all they can cling to. :mamoru:

so go for a lenovo t61. Those are rediculously over-built compared to the macbook pro. You still save about $800 with the lenovo.

you guys should really stop feeding the trolls... jollyogre/P07r0457 has been crapping in mac shack threads for well over a year now, this shit is old hat.

  23. It's ugly as sin. It's a soulless black box. And it comes with Vista. What is so hard to understand about the fact that many people consider the Mac OS and the design of the hardware as important features, rather than just comparing processors and ram?

:werd: Until PC users use a Mac, they will never know. Who's the newest mac member that just recently converted? Even he said he used to bash on Macs, and now is loving it.

Oh, don't forget the built-in iLife applications which come with every Mac.
