I was diagnosed with mono by my physician this week. he recommends that I don't lift for three months.

    wow, that sucks dude.

I have always been worried about catching that. I dont know about three months, but I would def. not lift for a month or so. I had a friend that had it and after a couple weeks tried to get back in the gym and he just make it 10X worse for himself.

    Feel better :(

I had it last spring....I went from 175 to 158...lost much strength and tons of definition, size...lost some fat though!

The main reason you shouldnt lift is because the spleen and liver become enlarged during mono and can be injured easily, scary shit. BTW I was off the weights for 3 months.

i had it REAL bad. It was the most painful week of my life. I had to be hospitalized for two days because my throat swelled up to a rediqulous size, and my ubula would swell up and lay on the back of my tounge causing me to puke. I lost 10lbs in 3-4 days.

Well I've had some sickness for the last 4 days now that has caused me to have a fever and take a shit literally every 15-40 minutes. Also I have a nasty headache everytime i stand up, and my stomach is cramped like my pussy is bleeding. I wouldn't be surprised for a second if I've lost 15lbs in the last 4 days.

Mono sucks too though. I slept and ate popsicles for 1.5 weeks straight. I didn't have the energy to stand up and walk into the next room. :hs:

I had it a couple of years ago, it was really bad for a week or so but then I was right back to the gym and I'm still alive.

I had mono when I was in high school. Worst thing ever! A friend at work actually has is right now too and now everyone's freaked out hoping we don't get it too. :(

    Mono isn't chicken pox buddy.

I got it at the end of my senior year in high school from some lying whore who denied giving it to me. Had to go to graduation when I could barely stand up without throwing up each time. Went through about a week and a half period where all I did was lay on the couch thinking of ways to kill myself because I was so miserable

    Have fun buddy!

It's more unlikely to get repeat cases but I know people who have gotten it 3-4 times :wtc:

None were as bad as the first though.
