I was given a computer by some people that were just going to throw it away, it's not good for a whole lot, but I figured I'd take it and use it for something.

Problem is, I can't see shit. The screen is so blurry that I can't make out what's going on, it's almost like I'm trying to read the stuff on screen with out my glasses on.

Is there a way to fix this? It's an IBM G40 Monitor.

try a different video card. if that doesnt fix it, then I would assume its a internal problem with the monitor? Try another monitor while you're at it.

yep try it on another pc if same issue, monitor is fucked

whatever you do, dont open it and try to fix it yourself, monitors carry high electric charge

pfft. open it up. ive salvaged many monitors that way.

inside ull see a black box with 3 little screw like nobes. if u use a screwdriver and turn them u can focus it.

just take the monitor back off, plug it in, turn it on and ur good to go.

ive done it 100+ times and never shoked myself once.

oh btw, wrap the screwdriver in electrical tape

I'm not that ambitious to fix it, I can go pick up another monitor for it. I think the problem is that 1 of the pins that hooks up to the back of the PC is missing.

Not all of the pins are necessary in that plug. I actually broke one off once, but the monitor continued to work.
Like the other guys said, try it on another PC.
I don't think I would throw it out without opening it up, but that's just me.
