Is Monarch ammo worth getting? I need some ammo for the Sks and I don't want to pay $10 a box for Winchester or Remington when Wolf is less than $3 a box. The Sportsman's Warehouse by me is out of Wolf, and the only other place I know that carries Wolf is way the heck out of my way going to work and closed by the time I leave. I saw on their website that Academy carries Monarch brand ammo for $2.85(or so) a box. Anyone know if it's worth getting, or is it so shitty that I should take 90min of my time on the way to work to pick up some Wolf? I'm not looking for bench rest accuracy or anything, just something accurate enough and that will go bang reliably.

no, but judging from the pic on the website, i'd say it's russian. the case seems to be the same color steel w/red laquer sealing as wolf.

edit-did a quick search looks like it is made in russia.

there are a couple of brands out of russia that i think all use the same ammo... monarch being one of them.

i've shot a couple of the brands before and i never had a problem with it

Yeah I've never really been able to tell the difference between any of the russian manafactuered ammo, I'm pretty sure all there ammo factories are tooled up with identicle equipment left over from the cold war.
