mold my body!

    what i am: female, just under 5'7", 120-125lbs, small on top, wide hips, if i gain weight it goes to my ass...

    what i want: to tone but not bulk up....

    just started going to the gym on pretty regular routine sched.....have been running a mile on the track and then heading to the weight room ....LIGHT freeweights on the arms and leg presses and other leg machines for the legs....and sit ups....

    how much weight should i be using on the bottom to keep from bulking up...last thing i need is more bulk down there (except for calves...i'd like to get those a little bigger maybe)...just want to tighten it all up

    you lack the amount of testosterone males have
    therefore you will not get bulky

    not even if already have a tendency to be bigger on bottom anyway?

    unless you're injecting a ton of test, you probably will never become bulky

    just continue lifting weights at a moderate weight

    better explained:

    if you keep your caloric intake at a reasonable amount mixed with the cardio and lifting with moderate weight, you'll shed fat which in turns makes your body have the tighter look. worrying about getting bulky isn't really something to be concerned about unless you don't watch your cals and begin to gain fat

    honestly, i don't really pay attn to what i eat...i eat whatever i feel like, but i get a lot of exercise regularly because i go to school (walk to and around campus) and have a dog (edit:that i have to walk) ...so gaining weight has never been a prob....is there any reason that starting a weight training routine would change that at all?? (enough to warrant me paying more attn to what i eat?...which i'd rather not...i like eating what i feel like and it's not too horrible...it's a 'balanced' diet...a balance of good and bad...:noes:)

    read: MODERATE WEIGHT

    that means somewhere in the neighborhood of weight you can use for 10-15ish reps

    if you're doing sets with 50 reps, you need more weight

    i hate the whole "watch what you eat" thing, but i do it b/c it's healthy. i still eat what i like, but working out's changed what i like to eat. i can't eat mcdonalds and jack in the box and taco bell like i used to... my body won't let me :hs:

    that being said, you'll probably still see results (if what you're eating isn't causing you to gain/lose any weight... adding a weight training program is going to burn more calories and thus help you lose weight), but diet's a big (bigger than you'd imagine) part of molding your body. eat right and you'll see more results quicker

    yeah....this is true....:wiggle:
    but ya'll have said women can't get bulky....(if they dont get fat...)
    but i've seen some large legs on (fit not fat) girls at the gym (i want toned dainty ones)
    and i bet they aren't taking steroids...but i guess i don't really know...

    i eat some jack in the box now and then but mostly sandwiches (egg salad and tuna--w/ lots of mayo:hs:--turkey, etc), homemade food like lasagna and soups, and spinach salad....i do have a weakness for dessert though....cookies, pies, cobblers, etc....

    but my processed food:unprocessed food ratio is higer on the un-processed, so I figure I'm doing alright and some potato chips and a soda don't hurt once in awhile...

    Well, it just so happens I am a body sculpting specialist. I can set you up on a workout regiment & diet that wil get you the best results in the shortest amount of time.

    But first I need some pictures of your body from many different angles so that I can accurately evaluate what will work best for you. PM them to me if your not comfortable posting them here.:naughty:

    surprisingly no one has told you but 'toned' doesnt mean anything.
    you get the 'toned' look when you have low bf.

    your legs arent going to get big and bulky unless you eat to gain weight and even then they wont get huge. if they do let us know bc id put myself on your lower body routine.

    Once you start losing weight, you'll lose it from everywhere not just your "fat" areas if you know what I mean.

    And lifting weights will help you A LOT as muscles which work harder burn more kilojoules (calories for you American folk). It's all a good thing. And you won't "bulk" at all. Unless you start juicing and working out 4 billion times a day.

    Girls with big legs like that -generally- get them or got them in the past from sports like soccer, gymnastics, volleyball, etc. If size is already an issue, cut weight while working out.

    If you really want to see any noticable results, you have to be willing to sacrifice a couple foods. And those things are sodas, potatoe chips, and desserts. Atleast for you, from what you've said. Not only are those foods very high in fats and sugars, but they are high in calories too.
