I'm sitting down and doing actual 'packages' in the next few days, and I wanted to use different albums w/ different packages. I have an account at Blurb, Asuka Book, and just sent off for a package for Leather Craftsmen. Anyone else I need to look at? :dunno:

Millers makes some decent layflat leather albums that I've used in the past. Not as nice as Tuscany, but nice.

Check out www.sharedink.com as well. I've used them for some books and he does a really nice product and has great customer service. Hell, you can actually call and talk to the owner, unlike Blurb or some of the others.

Can't tell from the site, but do they make flush mount books?

    I have two lines:

KISS, which are nice, rich leather covers. Sleek, elegant, clean and spare design.
Be sure and get the mini-KISS books..those go over really well. I also like the color choices. White and red in particular.

And when they are looking for something a little less expensive, I use the Tuscany from Black River.

These are also pretty good, not quite as sleekly elegant as KISS, but still pretty good. the turnover is also phenomenal, I ftp it, it gets printed and shipped to me in under a week.

That I'm not sure as its not something I've done or looked into. I suggest just giving them a call and talking with Chris and he'll be more than helpful for you. He is great to deal with.

I dont use him a lot cause I dont have the need for the high quality books he produces, I usually just need cheap Blurb stuff, but when I do need something high end I go to him and its as if I've been ordering hundreds of books from him all along.

great quality, amazing service, but 0 options. you pick the color, the number of spreads and 1 of 3 sizes. thats it. no cameos, no different cover material, no imprinting . . .

you took your resources page down on your site. this makes baby jesus cry. It was full of great info in there. Since I know you copied and pasted your album list from that page, I know it must still exist. care to share?

    INdesign

Kevin swan (co-founder of kiss) has a great tutorial vid. Watch it and you'll be up and running in no time

The big advantage to ID is every page you make is a template for future use. And it uses image placeholders, so you can manipulate the "image" w/o ruining the image

I need options, trying to set up tiers of packages. Trying to see who has what for what tier. I've looked at theirs too.
