Mods, could we get a ripping DVD sticky going?

    i dont even think you need mtr to make an xvid. doesnt mediafork rip too?

    yeah, it will do it... i'm not sure about breaking encryption though, might need mac the ripper for that

    some people swear that ripping the disk to the hard drive with mtr makes the encoding with mediafork go faster. in theory it should.

    however i have noticed that adding up the times results in a greater time to encode a ripped dvd. for me, it's faster to have mediafork encode the xvid right off the disk that it is to encode the ripped dvd on the hard drive. i don't get it
