My girlfriend was given a Zune back when they first came out,
The thing's a brick, but they do their job and I love 'em.

Unfortunately her backlight gave out, it plays music fine and all that shit...
but you cant see anything. She sent it in, got it back, two weeks later, same problem.

So she's giving it to me. (Aren't I the lucky one?)
I decided to turn it into a project, working on a custom case and whatnot...

But how do I fix the backlight problem?
Is it possible to fix this with a simple LED or... what do I have to do?

Are custom cases even possible with Zunes?

uh, if she got it repaired and it broke again 2 weeks later, i'd just get them to fix it again for free. even if you want to fuck with it after the fact, start with a fully working unit.

i would try opening it up and see what the deal is. maybe it's just a couple of leds there and you can do it yourself
