My 2nd 360 rrod'd and while im inside fixing it I'm debating modding it.

If I use iextreme 1.5 what's the probability that I'll get banned from live ?

I'll probably pick up another box for online play anyways but would be nice not to have to :x:

As long as you run your games through abgx and/or dvdmulletteer and they check out, your pretty much good.
I would also advise using the 1.51 firmware, so you can play even the newest games.

Either way, when and if ( and ive never been banned, i have multiple accounts, been a member for years ) they ban you, its due to a bad game, and they only ban the console.
Youll hear this from tons of users, the ban rate is low if you are careful about what you play online, and just as important, when. Obviously dont play games that arent supposed to be on shelves for like a month.

If i want to play an early release, i just yank the online cord, play, and when the release date is up, get back on live.

Lately ive been using a diff hard drive to play early releases so i can still go online with my reg hard drive. I just dont sign on.
Youll be safe, youll save a ton of cash, and really if you play more games, good for you. If you have a concious, just buy the games you really like.

From my understanding, as long as your games are stealth patched you shouldn't get banned from live. I've gone through close to a dozen games with constant interaction with live and no problems :hs:.

Are games stealth patched when someone rips them or is it something you have to do yourself ?

Every game you download now is going to be stealth patched.

No need to run them through ABGX/Muleter. If a game isn't Stealth, it won't load.

As long as you don't play games before launch (or any sort of leaked reviewers/beta copy)... You won't get banned.

No. Just as long as it can boot up and has a PCI slot (god help your friend if it doesn't have a PCI slot) it can mod 360s. Just have to buy a VIA SATA card. I forget the specific model number of the card. It's like 6xxx something.

thanks fellas. is there anything else he needs to buy to do this? cause for 30 bucks he can have a guy on CL flash his xbox. but if he just has to buy a $15
card and nothing else, ill probably tell him to do it himself. id imagine there is a PDF of a step by step to mod an xbox i can find somewhere

If he has a Lite-On, he'll need to buy a $60 connectivity kit as well.

To be honest he's probably better off buying the stuff to do it. There are firmware upgrades now and then for the newer releases so he might as well learn how to do it now so he can apply them himself.

From my experience most games I have "acquired" are region free.

On a side note with a connectivity kit I was able to flash my Lite-On drive in under 5 minutes. :wiggle:
