Seeing those are the only mods that Camaro had, it held its own pretty damn well.

there is no fucking way in hell that lingenfelter heads and cam will make 420 to the wheels, maybeeeee 400..

lingenfelter makes some of the crappiest heads/cam combos around.. well not crappy, but.. lets just say, mellow.

if they were cartek, or lg motorsports heads/cam combos, or maybe even mti, i would believe it.. and that ss would have beat some ass.

cartek and lingenfelter are the only people with heads/cam combos over 450hp to the wheels that i know of.. 420 is almost too common, but lingenfelter cant even hit those numbers, because they only cnc machine the heads, they dont go in and clean up their work afterwards like most good heads. also they use much less agressive cam profiles in their heads/cam kits...

Look at the mods for the Cobra - it's all fluff...sounds like the type of shit I'd do to my 4-banger econo-box if I ever decided to try and get cheap power out of it.

Camaro's got a lot better ones, but still not much.

So basically a mustang with 100 more hp barely beats a camaro?

Different category entirely, this one...sure, you wanna beat most of the cars on the road, Cobra will do it stock - I don't dispute that. You even want to beat the upper tier of domestic sports cars, same. You want to shut down other people modifying their cars, it's not gonna be that simple. More often than not, pulleys and exhaust mods don't offer that much performance gain...and I have my doubts about bushings improving anything if you're racing at speed in a straight line like these two.

With that said, it being the latest and greatest doesn't mean it is perfect or at its limits...all those basic characteristics of internal combustion engines still apply, and you can easily (and potentially, cheaper) do better.

It's fluff, performance and cost-wise, I'll call it as such, and I don't bloody care how much damned hype is out there.

what else can you really do?

who wants to change out 4 cams?

who wants to port out 32valves?

i guess you could stroke it, but why? just add more boost.

a 2.8 pulley is a pretty small pulley too if i am not mistaken.
