how many of you have taken classes/currently do? i guy came into work today and gave me his card and told me to come down to check it out sometime. Kenny Florian and Jorge Rivera train there :noes:. seems like it would be a lot of fun.. would defiantly have to work on my conditioning :o.

    oh, how expensive are classes?

if kenny florian and jorge rivera are there, its gonna be inflated a lot. Theyre relatively expensive.

I was looking into training there as well. A friend of mine at college trains there.

Classes (in MMA or BJJ) can range from $10-30 per day/lesson (with individual lessons being more money). Monthly memberships can range from 50 to 200/month.

Some guys at that place give a percentage of their purse to the school so they train for free. But, of course, you must compete to get a purse.

You are probably looking at the $100/mo range for a decent to good school in MA. Ideally you'll want a BJJ black belt instructor.

Don't pay $100+ if the instructor isn't a certified black belt.

    $200/month is robbery though.

i took classes for free while i was in school, and the first two weeks were the hardest workouts iver ever had! when your body gets accustomed to it, it is one of the best workouts out there. jonno you can also ask neopokle...he lasted a day

i am looking for a gym myself in CT, I'm looking for one in NEw Haven since I'll be moving there. Once you get used to it, you won't regret it, i learned A LOT from those classes!

Take lessons, even if its $100/mo.

MMA is such an incredibly fulfilling hobby/sport.

We have BJJ, MMA, and boxing classes at my school, and I enjoy the bjj gi classes the most. The MMA and boxing are all really hard on my body and add in lifting 3 days a wee on the Bill Starr routine that's posted all over here, and I just can't seem to keep up without staying injured.

That's why God invented knee/elbow braces, pain killers, and athletic tape.
