I am looking for a good (free) .mkv converter to convert my HD movies into another format that my PS3 can recognize so I can watch movies on my HDTV.

So I would like to see if there is such a program before I go spend another $20 on a converter.

I don't know how well this works in OS X as I use my windows machine to run this program. Might want to give this a try as it seemed to work well when I tried it. http://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/

Similar to other trans-coding+streaming programs but it actually worked with my .mkv 720p anime.

I used PS3 media server to stream movies to my PS3 but when I go to save it to the Hard drive it says the File is now 94GB! I dont know how to get around this, so I now have MediaLink.
