Ultimately too expensive, and too late. Especially since the 380 has been discontinued.

    Thats not a cool car

Mitsu has been making fail cars (save for evos) since the the 1st gen dsm went away.

I thought they had a reason for not making it.

How's that supercharged camry thing doing?

    Aurion?

    I've seen a few.

its way too expensive, and with the new Falcon XR6 turbo providing significant more performance and far better interior/handling for 35% less, i don't see why many people would buy the Aurion.

Dunno about the interior thing - but the Aurion still feels like it's bolted together way better than the falcon/commodore equivalent.

    Then again I haven't been in a G6E Turbo yet - only the XR6T

    i really like the FG

but my brand alliances would make me buy the VE over it. I'd just feel much better buying a Holden than a Falcon that is a few tenths quicker.

I drove and modded first gen DSMs for a long time. Absolutely rock solid, and I was able to boost my daily drivers to 25psi worth of 20g every day all day on a 100% stock longblock.

It was always nice to drive my car to the track, run 12.1 quarter miles at a mile above sea level (with the sub box in the hatch and some tools behind the drivers & passenger seats), and then drive home.

Crank walk always seemed like a Mitsu QA issue to me...

I believe, since there were so few instances of actual crankwalk reported, that it was a batch of bad bearings that wound their way into the cars for the 95-96 model years. You really don't see too much of it around anymore. All the 7-bolts are now in the 100-150k mile range, and at that point, if the motor hasn't walked, it won't.

My dsm run's mid-high 11's all day long at the track on 93 octane and all the full weight amenities, A/C, PS, PW, everything, 3400lbs with a full tank of gas :)

Back in 1998 we used to love grinding the v8 guys into the ground with our 4banger rice rockets. :) Sleepers for the damn win.

Here's an old realplayer video of myself (silver) and a pal (maroon) almost into the 11s. If I'd not missed that 1-2 shift it may have been there. On 550s. :)

    Video.
