Yesterday was a long and boring day at work up until we got a call from customs of a hiker in distress in the freezing mountains in the afternoon. Check out the link and video if you're into Coast Guard rescues, even inland search and rescue. :bigthumb: We usually don't respond to inland SAR unless the Air Force or NAS Whidbey Island can't respond. In this case NAS Whidbey was working another hiker case at the same time.

Heh, nope. I'm the one sitting comfy in the operations center back in Port Angeles, WA talking to the helo on the radio. :mamoru:

Oh and that video was edited for time by our district command. It's a shame too, they don't show the first minute or so of the preparation, closing in on the hiker and the lowering of the basket. Not to mention some funny commentary (f-bomb) from one of the pilots.
