This guy must be a working machine, he left Croatia this morning for a 12 hour (!) plane trip to Vegas. Normally, fighters arrive 4-7 days early to adjust...I know he has done this show up a day before thing with his fights in Japan too, but it still sounds kind of crazy to me. He must be able to adjust his sleeping very well or function well without it.

It's weird that he hasn't even showed up to do his promo stuff with the UFC, or even show up at the press conference. He's just going to show up at at the weigh-ins, then the fight, then a couple interviews and then he leaves within another 24 hours probably. That's Mirko for you.

    dude was in special forces....

he can probably operate at full potential on 36 hours of no sleep. He is a machine.

He rarely, if ever does the promo stuff before events. Even in Pride, he wouldn't show up to too much of the press conferences prior to the event except for the ones where they held in the public and those had to be shut down (twice :squint:).

I think that he is going to be alot more open to the American media. He wants to promote Croatia, and the Japanese media is a whole other monster compared to the American media

Supposedly Dana announced that he had just arrived at the air port during the press conference. It was said that he couldn't get here earlier because he had an important parlamentary (sp??) meeting...

it wont be such a big thing like silva was. People knew leben and wanted him to win when he got ko'd people were :eek3: All the ufc fans boys thought franklin was invincible watching him tear apart people in all his fights. Then when he got ko'd :eek3: :eek3: :eek3: People knew silva was badass. UFC fans boys dont even know who sanchez is to them hes a nobody no 1 gives a fuck. The only way mirko is gonna stun people is if couture beats sylvia and then mirko whoops couture. If they really wanted to stun UFC fan boys they should have him fight liddel and dismantle him.

Now that would be SHOCKING for the casual fan. Most people I know think Liddell is the best fighter on earth bar none... UFC won't do that anytime soon since Liddell is still their #1 most marketable fighter and it would be bad for business to allow him to get DESTROYED in similar fashion to Mirko/Wandy...

Yea i know but the paperviews they would have sold would have been huge. I guess they'll sell enough with rampage vs liddel anyhow.

They may well do a CC vs. Liddell, but that will be down the road when CC is more established... They don't wanna wreck their top guy just to put a new comer (to most ufc fans) over... Rampage/Liddell will sell HUGE, assuming Rampage can live up to the hype and demolish a few opponents to set this up....

We need to start a Rampage Jackson Quotes thread... example:

this is going to raise some eyebrows but i think being a champion for so long has made lidell awesome, not just by ufc standards but by overall mma standards. Without sounding like a fanboy i think he has a shot at ANYONE who enters his weightclass.
