    yes, that is a very nice film scanner, especially for the price.

    I only use a Nikon Coolscan 4000, so no experience with that particular one. I've sold a few, and the customers were happy with it.

    You may have better luck with some of your film questions at a site with more photographers on it, like www.fredmiranda.com or www.photo.net. More actual photograpehrs will give you advice rather than guys that just have a digital camera and think their hot shit.

    The first 7 pics and the very last pic are from a 10D, the rest are all scans from Provia 100F. They are all just quick scans, didn't spend much time with them, so the skin tones aren't great, but you get the idea

    You can see that slides have very little tonal range, so very little margin for error, and to get those great saturated colors you need to under expose the image by 1/3 to 2/3 of a stop
