just ordered a D90 and im getting a nikon battery grip also, now...
should i go ahead and get a 50mm 1.8 lens? im thinking yes because everyone loves it for how cheap it is and how good it is.
    what about filters?
what about a spare battery? is one type better than the rest?

1.8 is a great lens, or spend a little more and get the 1.4... you won't regret it

    I'd go for the new 35mm 1.8 AF-S before getting the 50 1.8

35 on a crop body :yum:

yeah, the 50 is cheap. and fun, but if you subject is of any great size, you need a good bit of distance to get your shot set up.

i picked up a 28 2.8 for something that i can use closer and it's not too expensive if you find a used one. that will hold me over till i save up to get the 17-55 2.8

you know, Joey's right... the 35 1.8 would be a good fit and a decent price. I might get one for the D300 myself sooner or later. :run:

I just got mine and I don't know much about photography but it seems like a decent camera for only zooming in. Not much you can do, just zooms pretty far. Also if you want to take pictures at night/indoors with the 18-135, you want to hold the camera very steady. :mamoru:

    I'm debating between a 35mm 1.8 and a 50mm 1.8 as well. I'll prolly go with the 35mm. :o

you know that bandwagon that was going around for a while...i think it was an mspaint, with two people. and one person had what the other person wanted in his hand...and then he crushes it and it zooms in on his big grinning face?

    thats you right now.
