When performing a military press the right way, what kind of position should your back be in? I find myself limited to the amount of weight I can press because it feels like my back is strained. Should it be locked upright? Maybe I just have a bad back...I do see a physician occassionally about lower back problems.

Do you feel like you're arching your back a lot?

back straight as possible. you should tense your abs. Keep your heels planted on the floor. Dont go on your tippy toes.

If you cant do that effectively, lower the weight or you might hurt yourself. If that's still too low, maybe you could do military press sitting down?
