I'll go first since it is my thread...
UNLESS YOU GET SUPER FLAMING FAGGOT COLA:
You do not get extra money because you have kids.
You get extra BAH if you have any dependants.

BAH is tax free money for housing and there are usually only two amounts for a geographic area: Non-Dependant and Dependant.

Someone who is married without kids will get the same as his coworker who has thirteen kids. The guy who is not married and has no kids will receive less money than the two other guys.

YOU DO NOT GET EXTRA MONEY PER KID... want that? GO TO ALASKA!

married mil to mil with no kids? both members get single rate BAH.

have a kid and one of them gets dependant rate BAH while the other still gets single rate. have a second kid and it doesn't matter. the same person will get the dependant rate, not the other member as well.

pay child support and live off base? you get dependant rate. no more partial BAH.

There is no salt peter in the drinks at basic. You can't poop or get a hard on because you are stressed and in a room full of guys. If you do pop wood, question your sexuality.

What about the MRE gum being a laxative theory? It might be true, I remember having to take a massive shit after chewing piece. Though not shitting for a few days and eating 3 MREs daily was probably a major factor.

MRE's in general are meant to stop you up internally. But on the laxative issue, I heard it was the peanut butter

    I'll go with something simple:

US Marines are under the Department of the Navy and are not a branch of their own.

Depleted Uranium is not inert -- in fact it is highly toxic, and will emit Alpha radiation if not taken care of properly.

    ----

U-235 Mined from Uranium Ore is a very dangerous and slightly radioactive substance, contrary to popular belief.

Fact: Old farts shouldn't strive to rejoin the military for fear of waking up broken.

Fact: The US Navy has grown beyond their mission and have become too enamored with the idea of bigger / faster / more protected / more weapon system boats. Fact is we need smaller / quicker / maneuverable / sustainable boats loaded to the gills with intercept capability weapons and Law Enforcment trained individuals. Coast Guard sets the example in this area and the Navy has been found to be wanting. Coast Guard saved the Navy's ass in this Iraq invasion with their patrol boats.

I understand what you mean, but how is this a 'fact' ??

I think the main capital ship the US Navy needs to focus on is the Aircraft Carrier, and perhaps 2 or 5 support ships/subs for each carrier, and then do what you suggested, I guess, to take care of smaller incursions against Guerillas and Insurgents.

See what Yemen gets? (Wonder where that money came from...:hsugh:) Yemen has really stretched hard to advance and meet us halfway in our political interests...as things were highly strained after the attack on the USS Cole. But this is the kind of thing I'm talking about. We already have Aircraft Carriers and just launched a new one. If it were that important we wouldn't have just sank that other Aircraft carrier. This is what we need mobility and maneuverability.
