My freind is going to go reserves but is debating going active duty. He wants to do a health care related mos but something that when he gets out or finishes training he can do in the civilian world and get paid decent money.

    Any suggestions?

AF- flying medic = awesome job for single guy

experience counts more than training. AD will give him more experience, unless he can find a full time reserve unit.

cant join af btw because he had some medical condition. He can join navy army and marines though they all said they could get him in with a waiver. Coast guard and airforce said nope.

Army's have Medics and the Navy has Corpsman. Marines have no medical jobs.

Corpsman training is far superior to Medic training, and you can either serve with the Marines as either a door kicker or back with the BAS's. Or you can serve blue side in a hospital somewhere, on a ship, or pretty much any Navy base around the world.

I am a Corpsman so if you have any questions about the training or whatever feel free to ask.

And once you get higher up as a corpsman you can be the ships IDC..

Only two people you have to have to get underway.. a commanding officer & an IDC.

That's an ego boost if I've ever seen one.

if I don't get a commission or go SAR I plan on going to IDC school. They're supposedly changing it now so when you get out you're a certified PA. :eek3:
