so now that i'm in the military, i have health care for the first time in my life...

    it's nice i guess.

Well i have dental as well (also my first time with it), so i went to the dentist for the first time in my life.

They told me my teeth are fine, but they want to take my back teeth out. WTF. my back teeth are fine, nothing wrong with then, but they said that i can't get deployed unless i get them out...

    WHAT THE HELL?

why does deployment depend on teeth? Why is it i have heard of marines who are severely injured in combat being sent on multiple tours in iraq, and i can't go unless they pull my teeth out.

not that i'll ever get deployed in the near future, but i don't want to have my teeth pulled so i can go when the opportunity comes along.

Most people that don't get their wisdom teeth pulled will regret it. They rarely come in straight. Unless they grow perfectly straight, they will push the rest of your teeth and cause you to have severe headaches, among other things.

Get your teeth pulled and stop being such a fucking baby.

    my teeth are straight.

and even if they did cause headaches, i think that's no reason to keep someone from deploying.

I didn't get mine pulled when I was active duty because I argued that they were perfectly fine and appeared to be aligned correctly.

    I regretted it.

    Get your fucking teeth pulled.

go get your teeth pulled, request that they knock you out for it, its 3-4 days off work and you get a full ass bottle of pain killers that lasts way longer than the pain does...

wisdoms are too unpredictable, and with the lack of Dental services abroad it's a simple requirement followed by about 3 days of bedrest and ice cream

unlike working for a civilian company where you might have to wait 3-6 months you are immediately covered both medical and dental from the moment you swear in and ship to Boot camp.

Everyone gets their wisdom teeth out. They don't do things like that while deployed so if something happened you would be stuck dealing with the pain.

Just get them out, enjoy the few days of SIQ and stop bitching.
