But I'd still take my XD over a Glock:big grin:

Went up to Wyoming this weekend to go shoot with my buddy and girlfriend, brought an array of weapons....

From left to right...12 gauge, 6.55x55 Swedish, 30-30 Winchester, x39mm SKS Chinese Type 56, .40 XD, and a TON of 22LR

Went up to the hills of Sundance, gorgeous day!

Girlfriend shot really well! She was loving the .22 rifles and loving the XD

Then about 200 rounds into our 700 rounds of .40 bullets I'm plinking thru them:

-notice the 3 rounds suspended in air:cool:

And low and behold the bastard doesn't fire
    [IMG]

Turns out that the trigger spring broke :( First time I've had an issue with the gun with over 4k shots...dunno?

Got a cool pic of my buddy shooting his Glock 21 (that thing is fuckin huge in your hands)

She's got a grip so tight no one in their right mind would wanna steal it from her, doesnt mean thats the best grip :dunno:

That was the second time she's ever shot a gun, she did quite well with it but still teaching her not to lean back...it'll come with time!

It looks like your girlfriend is covering the bottom of the mag. That is a big no-no in the case of a blowout. Does she want her hand to go out with it? :(

look at the first pic, doesnt look like she is in that one, maybe it is just the angle in the second picture?

Yeah, it could be the angle. I was just going off the 2nd picture. :)

As far as leaning back, I find myself leaning back a lot. For some reason it's just more natural when sighting in on my target. :coolugh:

Fucking ROFL at trigger spring breaking... You now have a useless hunk of crap until you send it back to sprindfield, since you can't manually reset the XD trigger like you can on the Glocks... That means you can't dry fire it to break it down.

    Glock > XD

I've heard trigger springs can break in the Glocks as well :dunno:

Difference is that Glock has spare springs in the case where Springfield doesn't:o

SA does have parts available to consumers, the content of a post from one of the other gun forums follows:

"MANY PARTS for the XD ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE NOW. More will be available in the future. We have always offered replacement recoil springs and recoil assemblies along with many other parts. The main parts that we don't send out are ones that we feel should be installed here by our specially trained gunsmiths. If you have specific parts that you are interested in getting spares for please feel free to give us a call at 1-800-680-6866 ext 8948 and we would be happy to help you place an order."

I guess trigger spring is one of the "many other parts" that SA sends out to customers. :wavey:

Also if you ever send out your gun to SA, ask for the $50 reimbursement on your S&H. They have done this for many people in the past.

I was shooting rapid shots, it was setting me back after about 10 rounds

My buddy.......well he has a collection of about 60 guns, and could shoot a pop can right in the middle from 50 yards away with his Colt 1911.

Yes, but how are you going to take the gun apart to replace the spring?

    WRONG...
The difference is that the trigger on the glock can be manually reset, and the gun can keep shooting.

Bend your knees and lean into the gun a bit, it should never be able to push you back over center if you have the proper stance... I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow or wednesday when I go shooting to show ya what I mean... See I'm not just a glock sackrider :eek3::eek3:
