I removed my navel piercing because it was migrating out. I was wondering if a dermal anchor would do the same thing....

We've done several dermal anchors on the navel that have done tremendously well. They are a terrific option for people that have had tummy tucks that make them otherwise a shitty candidate for a traditional navel piercing. (Tummy tucks involve intense navel reconstruction and result in nerve damage and poor blood supply making it sub optimal for a healthy piercing site) They look fantastic too.

I've had several dermal anchors on my own body and removed only 2..my wrists. This brings up a very important point: Piercing sites. Keep in mind before anchoring how likely you would be to snag it. Does it make sense to put it there or would it be a constant source of irritation. For instance, my wrists were a FUCKING pain in my ass and snagged daily despite heightened awareness of them. Hair wrapped around them when i washed it, pulling clothes out of the washer caught them on the agitator, making my bed, walking down the hall catching them on doorjams inadvertantly...the list goes on.

Sites we've had great success at include: Navel, collarbones, madison, anti eyebrow (side of eye), behind the ear and hips.

I took my anchor out :hs:

It healed perfectly and was fine, until I started wearing make up again. It got all red and starting to reject. Considering the madison anchor even a couple near my tragus? I don't know :dunno:

3 on the back of my wrist in a line going up my forearm. Great piercings, except when you snag them on stuff. Pulled on half out once.

Yes it would be better. Better chances of healing with less scarring.

i was thinking of getting a cleavage piercing, but i've seen scars after migration on a few people. that was horrible. this may be the solution i was looking for.
