A two-bill package, passed in the Michigan State Senate and House by votes of 37-1 and 105-0, respectively, prevents local governments from confiscating lawfully owned firearms during a state of emergency, as witnessed in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. In the first year since Hurricane Katrina, 10 other states and the federal government have passed similar legislation.

Lots of things are covered by the second amendment. Like just about every firearms law we have today is illegal, but don't let that stop us!
