Have to add, not that he cares.:mamoru:

I heard he only relatively recently started incorporating weight training in his program. Anyone know why so late in his career?

I have a feeling an olympic athelete at his level knows almost exactly what he eats. Or at least his coach does.

Those guys track everything. Before and after each race they get weighed, get lactic acid measurements, calories burnt, the whole she-bang. Those boys are elite.

While he does look better here than on tv... not sure if that's even sub 7% :dunno:
Could very well be... and just a matter or different muscle distribution and possibly water retention.

I've heard (on here) that swimming causes subcutaneous water retention as well. Any idea if that's true or not?

Not water retention... just higher bodyfat levels in general in comparison to some of the other athletes of the same caliber in other events...

I dunno, but I watched his 100m(?) fly swim last night, he was a body length behind 3/4 of the race and on the last turn fucking BAM all of the sudden he's god damn a body length ahead. quite amazing to be honest.

    proly 200. 100m only has 1 turn (50m pool).

and they peak like bodybuilders for the olympics i.e. dropping weight
