I think Timeline is his best work in a very long time... I hate that hollywood is going to dick it all up too. :wtc:

Timeline is one of the better books i've read in recent years.

BUT, I really hope the Fast and the Furious guy doesn't fuck it up.

Hopefully the movie will do the book some justice.

I've read just about everything he's written except for travel's.

Sphere > Congo > Terminal Man > *.chriton

But as always the movie version will do no justice to the book.

Read "The Andromeda Strain", good book. Not really into the pop fiction much though. Too much more thought provoking stuff out there.

edit: This is an opinion, not an insult, before some headcase decides to flame.

yeah Timeline was a fucking great book, slow to start but still a good book. And yes, I think the movie will butcher it, but who knows.

John Steakley I think is the author.. I still think that movie was great.. if for no other than the Jeep/crossbow slayer method. If you like that author, you NEED to read ARMOR.. same guy, different premise. Very fucking cool. Its sci fi ish though, not quite the same genre.

Yep, the book was an excellent read and holly-shitty-wood is gonna muck it all up. Did they even cast a big burly guy, the one who stayed back in the past? Or the butch female?

I've read The Lost World before Spielberg directed it and the book rocked but when i saw the movie...........the plot was totally different. Spielberg wanted to do a remake form the original The Lost World from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's book.

Same happened to me when i saw Christine, it was a great film but when i read Stephen King's book it was even better than the film.

And by the way read Sphere, it's better than the movie.
