Methods for pulling out subcutaneous water

    I'd like to get F&N's opinions on water depletion before contest... most of the stuff I've read talks about water loading the week before your desired date, then cutting to half your normal intake the day before. Some places say cut sodium and add potassium, and others say don't worry about it.

    Long story short, I have a bet with a guy that culminates Friday and I'd like to pull a little water out before then, but nothing unrealistic. I know there are a few guys here who have competed and I would love some input on it.

    is it weight based? I know how to drop water to make weight for a PL meet but not for looking good on stage.

    no we made a "5% body fat in 2 months" bet and it's based on pinch testing, and I don't want to have any extra water under my skin that would fuck up the test

    Well I'm no use then. Although if you get dehyrdated as fuck (basically what I do) then you would be holding less water overall.

    yeah I am not desperate enough to just dehydrate, I basically have the bet won, I just want to try and go a little further and experiment with a little carb depletion/ loading and some water manipulation

    Gradually de carb to no carbs for a day then re-load on carbs 10 hours before + Gradually lower your water intake the entire week, end the week by barely sipping on distilled water (has no sodium) + Eliminate sodium (no canned foods, condiments etc)

    For a friday morning weigh-in.

    mon-wed: drink 2+ gals of water and minimize carbs/salt
    thurs drink at most a pint of water...nothing if you can....

    I think that's basically what I said but correct me if I'm wrong? The reason I said to re-load is because when you decarb, your muscles will flatten out and re-loading on carbs before will cause them fill back up and your veins look sick. :bowdown:

    No, you said to gradually reduce your water intake the whole week. What I said is drink so much fucking water your body thinks there is plenty ot go around and won't hold any of it. That way when you stop drinking water on thursday your body is holding very little water and it will suck out what it needs to stay alive.

    Thats how BB's do it...Shit ton of water + salt starting about a week out. The about 3 days out cut out salt...and also be drinking spring water. Finally drop water the last day out.

    Something like that give or take.

    I mean water is water, so the protocol will be similar to PL exept that BB also eat a shit ton of carbs to fill up there muscles and have them absorb any inter-cellular water into the muscle. PL on the other hand dont give a fuck about how big their muscle are so I dont think they would carb load to fill up there muscles.

    We carb load the day before the meet, after weighing in to get bloated as fuck to tighten gear up.

    Does the pinch test usually give a lower bf% then other mentioned methods here?
