Alright, i really like metal, but the moment they start screaming indecipherable grunts, i get really put off. anything that has the metal sound to it, but not the harsh abrasive singing style.

I'm a large metallica fan (MOP, AJFA, Kill em all, and Ride the Lightning) and would like something in the same style, Slayer doesnt really do anything, i'm not a really big fan of the lyrics.

Dragon Force and Avenged Sevenfold are good choices.

Avenged Sevenfold can fall off the side of the planet as far as i'm concerned, lol

SOAD is alright, some of their stuff clicks, but some doesnt do anything for me.

Zombie is good, but all of it is very similar

Powerman and Manson have their time and place, but not really my cup of tea

Killswitch, i dunno, havent liked what i have heard, looking up Pantera/Anthrax (seems very 80's lyrically), and Megadeth

Never heard of Dragon Force, will check it out too

good? you give them too little credit.

also, bigman, a lot of the best metal bands do use the "indecipherable grunt" as you so generously put it. singing isnt just about melody, it's about using the voice as an instrument. you wouldn't want your metal to use only undistorted guitars, would you? for the third time on OT since i was approved 2 days ago, i'm going to recommend Opeth. they are the best band out there and they use both "clean" vocals and death metal.
