thanks to being bored with the current metal scene (sans the new darkest hour), ive started to get into rap/hiphop alot more.

i need some suggestions on what im missing out on.

right now im listening to the following:
    gym class heros
    jedi mind tricks
    three 6 mafia
    deltron3030
    wu-tang clan
    dangerdoom

these are just what my friend had in his car and i took them all. i really dig the gym class heros, deltron3030, wutang and dangerdoom.

three 6 mafia is too clubby for me and jedi mind tricks is just too heavy for what im looking for.

2pac - Until The End Of Time album especially if you never listened to him. Much more gangster rap then the ones you listed though. Theres also N.E.R.D, murs and slug, aesop rock , Snoop dog, Dr Dre, immortal technique , cunninlinguists, swollen members

Get the album "liquid swords" from GZA I think its ghostface from wutang clan

    .

No true metal head would ever get "bored," you just have a piece of shit metal collection...anyway...Necro is about the only rap I listen to, and occasionally old Kottonmouth Kings.

Bored? There's been at least a dozen amazing metal albums out in the past few months, you must be listening to the wrong stuff.

But if you must, I'd go with Bone. Their harmonies and compositions are closest to metal of all the rap I've heard. Deltron is also good.

Tech N9ne – Rap vocals similar to Bone Thugs, and some guitar incorporated in a lot of the beats. Comes across as more of a rocker, but is a really good rapper IMO.

I love metal, but hate metalheads. Theyre so closed minded when it comes to music. That being said anyone who is an elitist to one form of music can go die for all i care.

Lyrically, yes, it can be. :hsugh:

Every genre has their lack of talent and those are usually the artists that share the limelight.

Jedi Mind Tricks, Tech N9ne, 2 Pac, B.I.G., Bone Thugs, Jay-Z,etc… If you listen to the lyrics and the flow, you can’t say that’s not talent.

The infamous by Mobb Deep and Only built for cuban links by Raekwon (from wu-tang) are two of my favourites.

But yeah dude, there's plenty of interesting metal out there, shed loads in fact, you musn't be looking hard enough! What kinda metal do you listen too?

I'm not what you call a metal head, because I am very open minded with music, but metal is my absolute favorite genre of music. But, I surely love me some underground/oldschool hip hop as well. Just whatever you do, stay away from that horrible MTV rap! That's garbage!

    'Some' artists/groups I recommend...

Del the Funkee Homosapien, Immortal Technique, KRS-One, Aceyalone, Binary Star, Army of the Pharaohs (there's like 10-12 guys in this group and most of them have solo stuff), Jedi Mind Tricks, Atmosphere, Coup, Hieroglyphics, Jeru the Damaja, MF Doom, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Sage Francis, Aesop Rock, Canibus, Masta Ace, Pharoahe Monch, Brother Ali, Cannibal Ox, etc., etc., etc.......

There's so many good hip hop artists out there that people don't even know about or are unfamiliar with.

A good point but, Think about this. Dragonforce is extremely talented but are the gayest thing since gay came to gay town.

That's pretty fucking gay :mamoru: Their first album is fucking awesome though, but then they went downhill after that shit. Their second album had some good songs but it all sounded the same. Third album...was fucking weak, only one good song. Basically Dragonforce isn't THE power metal band, its a damn good genre. Helloween (Keeper of the Seven Keys line up) > power metal as far as I'm concerned.

Not a big power metal fan. Every song reminds me of the power rangers theme.
