roomy linen shirts, colorful madras cotton shorts, and thin sandals

you want to look like you're at the beach, even if you're really just sitting at oilcan harry's alone on a friday night looking for a bear to take home

kdubb, if you're expecting help from these elitists here who think they know a shitton about fashion, you're in the wrong place. look at some of the responses for proof. They love ridiculing ppl looking for advice.

what's the fucking point of this forum when you guys are going to blast every new person who comes in here looking for help?

might as well just combine this forum with the Closet if you want to have the same 5 members jacking eachother off all day. so get off your high horses

I have not much. I came here for help before and got shot down with sarcastic answers and Offtopic-subforum-type responses. Just speaking from experience. Some ppl did offer genuine answers and I appreciate it.

I'm not saying everyone's like that, just some.

I agree that it seems hard to get legitimate responses up in here. :hsugh: Kind of turns people away from fashion more than anything by encouraging snob stereotypes.

some nice sandals, prob white v-neck like everyone else,

I really want this hat that someone else posted, but I'd only wear it if I went on another cruise. not ballsy enough to try to rock it.

Well it's not like we're here and it's our job to give people advise. If people are genuine and serious and give enough information as to what they're thinking of then people will help.

Arriving in and making a thread requesting ''mens summer staples'' is just a little bit vague. There's thousands of different things people could be saying. Nobody knows anything about what this guy is used to or comfortable with wearing. You can't handpick 5 items for him with the amount of info he gave.

Other people come in and post a new jeans thread - somehow by-passing a thread on denim which is a few thousand pages long.

In my opinion, like everywhere, you need to give more specific info on what it is you're looking for. Pictures...articles...whatever.

I don't see why you wouldn't dude. The only reason I'd look twice at you is because I think it looks cool.

    Go for it.

The guy probably left it vague because he doesn't know shit and was hoping other people would give him their interpretations of summer style basics...its pretty straight forward, but evs.

By the way, that hat would so work if everything else you're wearing is scaled down.

Well yeah I understand that. But still a bit of info as to what he looks like and what he generally wears wouldn't hurt. :)

Dressing a 20 year old in linen pants and sandals is a bit :ugh: where as some guy in his 40's might get away with it. As much as I hate it :mamoru:
