ok that might be a bit drastic, but i really dont know what is wrong with me! i was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome last year (PCOS) because of my irregular periods (actually they were non existent) and other symptoms. Well recently i've been experiencing these moments of extreme heat where i get this hot sensation throughout my entire body and the area around where my ovaries are hurts really bad. normally this whole menopause thing wouldnt even come to mind, but i just read an article in a womans mag about a girl who went through menopause at 23 and it got me thinking. i know i should prob see a doctor, but i have no health insurance. i know i didnt go into too much detail, but if there is any info i can provide, please ask or PM me.

mods, not sure if this belongs in the vag or not. but if so, please feel free to move....thx :)

Find out if they have any free clinics in your city. You need to see a medical professional about this. This cannot be diagnosed online.

I think you live where I do, so there's a Planned Parenthood on 35th Street in East Boca Raton. I used to go there before I had health insurance.

I would seriously consider spending the $165 it costs to see an OB/GYN though for something as serious as this. Just food for thought.

i havent moved to boca just yet-but if planned parenthood can help me, i know of one in my area (tampa). i had insurance up until about a month ago, and my doctor at the time scheduled an appointment for me at Tampa General Hospital to meet with a specialist or something. the appointment is for this coming Monday. do you think they will still see me with no insurance? or at least tell me the cost ahead of time so i can pay for it?

They will still see you without insurance, but you do need to call them and let them know you do not have coverage anymore. They should quote you a price over the phone, but if they end up doing more tests or whatever its going to be more expensive.

im not sure if i should go to the hospital or planned parenthood. i think PP will be cheaper, but im not sure if it will be the same quality of care and diagnosis....

Crack the yellow pages. The blue section has government numbers. Find a clinic in your area.

    Eh?
Weren't you saying you had no money to go anywhere? I'd take a medical opinion over none at all... the least they can do is say "no, we have no idea what's going on"...

If you have the money I would without a doubt not go to PP, but you gotta do whatcha gotta do sometimes.

Something this complex I think it would be worth the $165.00 if possible.

Im sorry i didn't give the re-direct to the board :hs: as earlier, there is also a chat room where you can talk on a certain distinct time with people who know what you are going thru.
