After 9 pages in the other thread, let's see what the dudes think.

    Poll choice incoming.

Poll choice #4 should also say "(aka. I'm naive and going to get burned)" but that exceeded the character limit :mamoru:

Never getting married, but for sake of the thread, yes, a prenup is essential.

If I do get married (years from now) maybe I'll make a thread called: "EDU: Falconer's guide to prenups and hiding your assets"

Who was it who posted that their wife said she wanted a divorce and the first thing she said was "log into your bank account, I wanna see how much money I'm getting"? Was that someone here, someone in the main forum, or something someone read somewhere?

i'm not gonna get a prenup. First because i'll never make anything close to a 6 figure income so whats the point and second because i'm a romantic at heart and i've never been in an environment where divorce was common, It's an unheard of thing in Bosnia where I'm from.

I would get one in a heart beat. With the divorice rate at 50% and the fact I made signifcantly more money than my previous girl friends... well you have to protect yourself.

Plus I always hear of people having to pay $1,000's of dollars in alimony every month when my personal cost of living is lower.

Another thing... in a Sociology class I took, we disccused this study that stated when a couple gets divorced the Woman wants alimony to support her life style and then there is child support. Which made sense back in the day where women were not expected to work.

In these modern times were men and women are equal and there are plenty of women in the work force. Alimony & Child support should go right out the window. You should figure out the expenses for the kids and split it 50/50. The primary bread winner after a divorce should not have to support the other's life style.

Don't plan on having kids, don't want them at this stage in the game, but if I do have them, im sure id get attached.

I would be a great dad. Thats why I don't want kids. Id rather be selfish.

yes... that's why i'm asking :hsugh:

but isn't it relevant to anyone who wants to protect their assets in a marriage?

disclaimer: i didn't read the whole other prenup thread so if it's directed at men only for a particular reason i apologize

 further proof that Falconer deep down doesn't trust or care about what women value, and therefore should be thinking about how he'll never get married, as opposed to wondering who wants a pre-nup :mamoru:
