Running 768 MB RAM (256 Chip that came with it 512 PC-2700 chip I purchased from someone on OT) on a Dell Dimension 2400.

Wanted to up grade so I purchased 2 1GB DDR PC-2700 off ebay, (click link for details)

After talking with Dell they said my computer could run up to 2 GB but of PC-3200. And when I tried to install my new RAM my computer wouldn't run, would come on and get stuck at the initial Dell startup screen.

So my question is, is my problem that I don't have PC-3200 RAM or should I not have any problems running PC-2700?

Oh and my processor details are - 80531, 2.2G, 128K, 400, CELERON, DECISION ONE

    Thanks for the advice guys!

i believe dell only runs certain brands of ram because it's picky.
