Last Sunday I detailed '77 VW Beetle for a friend of mine. The paint was a mess (bad paint job to begin with) and I thought the chrome on the bumpers was a mess too, until I polished them with my DA with a finishing pad and 205. WOW - what a difference this made. I didn't really expect the improvement that I did get, but after thinking about it -- it makes sense. Finishing pad + 205 @ 1500 RPM should provide pretty thorough polishing of chrome. So I polished the whole car, then went back and did the bumpers, exhaust and wheel covers. :bigthumb:

So, has anyone else ever used this method to polish Chrome?
