Just got a roll back that I took in Banff, here are 3. Did lots of bracketing, so I got lots of the same, hence only three.

    Film >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> lame ass digital.

    blend multiple exposures, shooting digital.

    split neutral density filters.

better metering and some burn/dodge work if you want to be an elitist film d00d.

orrrrrrrr... just shoot at a better time of day..

    blown sky avoided! :bigthumb:

There was simply no definition. Nothing is actually blown out.

I'm talking in the originals here... The one of the train from closer, the sky is basically gone in the edited, because I changed it from ridiculous light gray to even more ridiculous light grey/white. There was just nothing there

    Meh..
I dont know why people are so infatuated with film these days. Especially when they share it on a monitor :hsugh:

So why bother with film? All the qualities attributed to film (mainly higher DR and all that goodness) are negated when its displayed digitally on a monitor...

I was being sarcastic. My photos are used for more than just OT and online use.

And Devin, any time you need any advice on dropping in backgrounds, holler at me

but, how do you like the Ilford? I'm wanting to try some different film. I normally shoot with TMAX, Provia, Velvia, or 64TII

I'm also into cross processing and alternative printing...

Here's a shitty p&s shot of an 11x17 print that was part of a series of mine that did pretty well...

    it looks TONS better IRL.

I like the ilford better than the tmax, but I only shoot b&w large format...

It seems to have a much finer contrast range, and takes to pushing/pulling really well.
