i was just wondering if you guys knew of any pro mma cats who openly practice meditation. Most people in our sport seem to be caught up in the 'sport' aspect mma has to offer and not the deeper discipline martial arts are known to instill. The closest fighter I've noticed who practices the 'in the now' idea during his fights is fedor. He goes by what happens in the moment and with little gameplan due to the everchanging concept of those moments. Anyone with a deeper interest in the martial arts can appreciate the question I'm posing. Does anyone openly profess/been rumored to have a practice of this incorporated with his regimen? Or is it an aspect of martial arts that has yet to make an impact on the growing world of our sport?

-without some knowledge of the practices and purposes of meditation, especially in a martial sense, this question is unapplicable to comment

There's that one dude who doesn't really train, he just does visualization techniques through meditation...his nose is really fucked up and always broken, Olaf something. Looks like a tree hugger.

yes, he stated that in his interview that he doesn't really train in a gym that he just sits outside in nature and visualizes fights and goes into meditation.

I know, but the way olaf went down you could tell he wasn't gonna get back up. The ref didn't start moving in then and was waiting for a "finish".

edit: rewatched it again. He didn't look completely out from the standing hit, but I still think that ref shoulda stopped it after the first blow, or atleast not moved AWAY while Rob came in for the finish. I'd rather see a slightly premature stoppage after a good hit than see a dude get fucked up like that.
