Ok i went out on my bike yesterday going to take a road trip to check out more bikes. I hit the road and ride about 10 miles stop grab a full tank of gas.

Then I head back out on the road. I pull out from the gas station and I swear I had a harley following me. I look around, no other bike except mine.

I ride an 81 yamaha xs400. and the right pipe feels like it is putting out alot more now and sounds loud as all hell. It was still rideable for my trip i took it on only thing may have been a small power loss in the 45 to 60mph range nothing too noticeable b/c i don;t have much power to lose.

Im open to any siggestions b/c i really do not want to take my bike into the shop again

^ i agree, check the pipe and make sure its even connected.

Also check the header where it goes into the motor. Those nuts holding the header on might have come loose. It could definatly be that if it starts backfireing.

found a weld that cracked all is better there now, now i have to figure out if the pipe bouncing around is what caused the fuckign chain to pop at 55 on the highway

I'd guess worn out chain or not adjusted properly.

Unless your pipe managed to work its way into the chains path...which is unlikely.
