i am never a fan of bigger government and i didn't read the whole article (so i'm not advocating this specific plan) but with all the other shit our government meddles in i don't think light regulation/review of the supplement industry would be the worst thing in the world.

i'm not implying they should be able to come in and pull stuff off the shelves, ban substances, and regulate how much you can buy (which probably would wind up happening eventually since the government seems to fuck up everything it puts its hands on), but some greater awareness to the possible and very real consequences of some substances (mainly prohormones) on the market could not hurt.

think of all the stories you hear (even F&N members) of teenagers going into GNC and some cashier reccomending superdrol or some other shit to them when these kids have never even heard of PCT. many people get off scot-free but some also get fucked up hormone levels for life. maybe supplement stores just need to buckle down on their employees acting like supplement experts when they really don't know jack.

at the end of the day the fact does remain that people shouldn't go throwing substances in their body without knowing what they are so they are ultimately responsible for their own activities.

I'm with you on that, but we also need to make corporations responsible- I say regulate them just enough so that
and so that they don't fund/publish research contrary to actual scientific findings

it would suck to a point... as in the case of niacin. the non flushing version is useless...
whimps complaing about the flushing (a sign that it works) will cause the gov to ban it...

i had to go to whole foods to fly flushign version... cant find it in cvs anymore

    solger is the brand..ftw

If they made steroids legal you wouldn't have to worry about toxic shit like superdrol.

retard, i was born here. cvs used to sell it.

also i guess there is aplus to gov regulation, as dynamitze elite protein cookies and cream doesnt state it has hydrogenated trans fat oil on their product, but after further investigation i found out it does thanks to gnc listing it (the oil is in the cookie pieces, DN just lists it has cookie pieces, not whats in the cookie pieces). I was so pissed I caleld the company up... well they sent me a 5lb tub of vanilla to shut me up

McCain is a fucking idiot. It wasn't too long ago that he was fighting UFC and tying to ban MMA sanctioned events. The guy really has nothing better to do, he needs to keel over. The cost for these supplement companies to get approval from the FDA is ridiculously expensive, this will be passed onto the consumer. It boils down to the FDA trying to gain monetary control of a booming and strong market.

Either side you stand on this issue, it's always good to have discussion going. I'm actually working with the U.S. Olympic Committee to help promote the Don't be an Asterisk anti-steroids campaign. We are trying to engage in healthy dialogue about illegal steroid use since it can only lead to a harmful and dangerous end. Check them out at dontbeanasterisk.com or at facebook.com/dontbeanasterisk. They have some great information and interactive elements that are both educational and entertaining.

    1. Steroid use turns you into something you’re not.
    2. Steroid use makes your athletic accomplishments fake.

You can get lab test results from most companies, for example Mike (1fast) posts a lot of his in his product descriptions. I guarantee the FDA is not getting involved in regulating the supplement market to keep you safe.

Not to mention that a lot of the stuff the FDA approves ends up being deadly anyway
