My MBP has all the music we listen to at the parties for our house. It's all networked on wi-fi, so we move it around from room to room to pick songs. We had a party the other night where I wasn't present, but my roommates still used it (this happens all the time, they are very careful with it, and I trust them). Unfortunately, some random kid at the party must've been moving it around and placed it on a speaker, where it fell onto a concret floor in the basement (either that or the kid dropped it, it doesn't really matter at this point, not that I'll ever find out).

Anyway, there are a ton of dents on the top of the lid, the Superdrive is smashed, the mouse button is stuck in the "click" position - I can't use it unless I plug in my external mouse, and the latch doesn't close anymore. The damage is all cosmetic other than the trackpad, which now turns my laptop into a desktop only. All the internal components are fine.

Cliffs: MBP is trashed after a meeting with a concrete floor. FML :wtc:

I know Apple Care doesn't cover accidental damage, but how much will it cost to get this fixed? Presumeably all I need is a new enclosure for the computer. Any suggestions?

If you take into account the time it will take to repair this stuff + the replacement parts you would need to buy, it sounds like it would be cheaper to buy a new machine. :hs:

However much the bullet goes for that you use to persuade your room mates who were in charge of your MPB to own up to fixing it since they were in possession of it and using it while you were gone.

fuck that man, whenever we have a party or any more than like 8 people in my apartment, my MBP is tucked well away in my room.

I just have the same library on an ipod and connect that to the speakers :dunno:
