    any opinions on this car?
long term reliability outlook on this?
2.3 direct injection, with a small k06 turbo. i test drove one this weekend, i was impressed....

other cars i'm considering is the infiniti G35, subaru legacy GT, the STi and EVO 9 MR. reason being i want something i can also play with at the track and seats 4.

STi & EVO are great performance cars but they look too much like boyracer cars imo. I would probably go with the G35 out of those cars

If you want all out racer get the Evo, if you want great mod potential and lots of creature comforts get the Legacy GT. It is relatively easy to get more power out of them since it is the same motor as the STI. Only differences are different manifold, turbo, and smaller TMIC.

Legacy GT with some mods is awesome, and the best looking of the bunch imho.

After owning my 626 ES, I find it difficult to recommend mazda to anyone...after my buddies experiences with RX7's I find it difficult to recommend mazda...I just find it difficult to recommend mazda all the way around. Questionable quality and reliability at best.

Legacy GT, it's a sweet car. Buddy of mine got one, he's loving it. And I've test-driven one, very nice interior, and the engine is sweeeeet.... Check the latest issue of Road & Track, they did a comparison of AWD sports sedans, and the Legacy came in a very close second to an Audi S4, I think it was. But if they factored price into the scores, the Subaru won.

    LGT FTW.

I drove one and was very surprised that a stock luxury sedan came with this much power for under 30k.

Right now it's between that and an STi. I'd consider evo, but long term reliability (I need to keep the car for 6-8 years at least) is a BIG concern.
I will probably go for the STi just because it holds a very good residual value, or the legacy Spec B, since I foudn a good price on one.

A reflash and a turboback exh can put over 300ft/lbs to the ground on the legacy GT. I have seen it happen.

Let the G35 guys explain to their gf why they just got their ass handed to them on a platter.

I have a mazdaspeed protege, and i am currently preparing to sell it. Mazda does not build a quality car, for an import i say go with honda/toyota, and if you're into awd go with the WRX(sti) over the EVO.
